Who We Are

Second Church Building (Full).png

To grow our faith in Christ and share it with others;
To connect people to God and to each other through love;
To create hope by providing opportunities for people to serve.

We seek to be a faithful community that loves, connects, equips, and serves.

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Selma, California is inclusive of all people because we believe that everyone belongs in the Family of God. We say "all means ALL" around here and we mean it. Everyone is beloved and is welcome here -- all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, socio-economic statuses, and more. We are highly involved in our community through participation in a number of local feeding programs, help agencies, and not-for-profit organizations.

Our various fellowship and study groups provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, grow, and do ministry in our community.  Locally, we might be best known for our outstanding music program, which includes our ecumenical Community Church Choir cantatas at Easter and Christmas.

We invite you to join us for worship and our other events throughout the year and see what it means to be "a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world"!

We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada and
we are located in the
Northern California-Nevada Region of the church.
